Alberto Tripi was born in Rome in 1940, where he graduated from Sapienza University in Electronic Engineering.
In 1966 he joined IBM Italy and in 1983 he left IBM EMEA (based in Paris) where he was responsible for the Company's development in the areas of Europe, Africa and the Middle East and founded COS/ISI Italsistemi per l'Informatica (now Almaviva) to implement IT and telecommunications services.
He is currently majority shareholder and Chairman of AlmavivA S.p.A., with 18 Italian offices and operations in Saudi Arabia, Brussels for EU, Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Finland, England, Russia, Santo Domingo, Spain, United States, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zambia, with more than 48,000 employees.
Alberto Tripi in Confindustria has been President of Anasin (ICT), Ferdercomin and Confindustria Innovative and Technological Services, as well as Member of the UNICE (European Confindustria) Services Commission. He is currently a member of the Confindustria Presidential Committee where he is Special Advisor for Artificial Intelligence, as well as Head of ICT Studies and Strategies of Anitech-Assinform.
He has been a Board Member of IRI since 1997, for five years and until its liquidation.
He participates in the Leonardo Committee and is a member of the Council for Relations between Italy and the United States.
He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rome Technopole Foundation.
He is also a partner and member of the General Council of ASPHI Onlus, for the integration of people with disabilities through the use of ICT technology.
