Alessandro Lanza

Professor of Climate Change Economics at the LUISS and Director of the Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei

Alessandro Lanza, PhD in Economics at University College London, and Visiting Professor at Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, is Professor of Climate Change Economics at Libera Università Internazionale degli Studi Sociali Guido Carli (LUISS) and Director of Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei.

He has been a member of the Board of Directors of ENEA, President of Sotacarbo and is a member of the editorial staff of Lavoce.info. He has extensive research, teaching and management experience, having held various positions in Italy and abroad over the years, including Senior Analyst at the International Energy Agency (IEA), Chief Economist at Eni, CEO of Eni Corporate University and Senior Research Fellow at the KAPSARC research centre, Saudi Arabia.

Among his many significant experiences, it is worth mentioning his participation in the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) with the role of Leading author. He is the author of numerous publications in scientific journals and several monographs. He is a founding member of the Italian Association of Economists of the Environment and Natural Resources (IAERE) and of the Italian Society for Climate Science (SISC) and Chairman of the Sustainability Committee of Eurizon Capital SGR.
