Born in Nocera Inferiore on 22 May 1964, he graduated in Law at the University of Parma (cum laude), in Political Science at the University of Salerno (108/110) and in Internal and External Security Sciences at the University of Rome Tor Vergata (cum laude).
He is a Brigadier General in the Carabinieri Auxiliary Force. He attended the Nunziatella Military School in Naples, the Military Academy of Modena, the Military School of Mountaineering in Aosta, the Military School of Parachuting in Pisa, the Carabinieri Officers School in Rome.
Pursuant to Law No. 125 of 11 August 2014, which regulates Italian development cooperation, Deputy Minister Edmondo Cirielli assists the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in matters pertaining to development cooperation and chairs the ‘Joint Committee’.
