Fatimata Cheiffou is Niger's Ambassador to Italy and Niger's Permanent Representative to international organisations such as the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the World Food Programme (WFP). He presented his credentials in Rome on 7 April 2022. His diplomatic responsibilities cover not only Italy but also several other countries, including Greece, Albania and Slovenia. In her role, she actively participates in international efforts, especially in the areas of agriculture and food security. She has been a strong advocate of the use of legumes to combat soil degradation and malnutrition, emphasising their importance in Africa, where soil degradation is a major challenge.
