Mauro Moruzzi is one of Italy's leading e-Health experts. Inventor of CUP, the electronic health access system (Bologna 1989) and creator and implementer of the first Electronic Health Record (2002-2018, Emilia Romagna). He is Program Manager of Digital Health at the Digital Transformation Department of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (since February 2023); President of the Technical Scientific Committee of the Achille Ardigò School of Welfare of the Municipality of Bologna (since 2018), as well as President of the Achille Ardigò Association.
He has taught Sociology at the Universities of Urbino and Bologna. Scientific Director of Assinter Academy from 2014 to 2023. He has published numerous books on ESF, eHealth and eCare for publishers Franco Angeli, Il Sole24 ore and Il Pensiero Scientifico.
Mauro Moruzzi is also a writer of historical novels set in Italian colonial Africa (‘Il Meccanico di Asmara’ and ‘Tra I Cieli dell'Impero, Storie di guerra e d'amore nell'Africa Orientale Italiana’, published by P.E.Persiani, are his latest publications).
