Walter Morale, born in 1967, is a physician with extensive experience in the field of medicine and surgery. He graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Catania in 1993 and specialised in both Nephrology and Vascular Surgery. As medical director at the Kidney Transplant Centre of the University Hospital of Catania, he actively contributed to the organisation of transplants and donor evaluation. He has led numerous surgeries and participated in experimental studies and initiatives on organ donation.
As a university lecturer, he has taught at several institutions, including the Universities of Pisa and Catania, focusing on topics such as vascular access in haemodialysis. He has participated in and directed congress and training events, as well as being responsible for surgical activities and training for resident physicians.
With an extensive surgical case history and an active presence in scientific research, Morale has contributed significantly to the fields of nephrology, transplantology and vascular surgery. He has published numerous national and international scientific papers and participated in the development of guidelines in the field of vascular access. In addition, he has been involved in innovative studies on the creation of endovascular arteriovenous fistulas and computational models of blood flow in AVFs.
